Symposium on Ananda Sankar Das


A symposium on Mr Ananda Sankar Das, a noted playwright of Mayurbhanj, was organised in collaboration with Sahitya Akademi in the Convention Annexe Hall of the University on 27th Nov 2021. The event was inaugurated by the Vice- Chancellor Prof. K. K. Basa (who completed a year in the office that day) and was presided by noted littérateur Dr. Bijayananda Singh. The Key note address was delivered by Dr. Bishnupriya Otta. The symposium was attended by the faculty, students of MSCBU as well as many admirers of Mr. Das from Mayurbhanj.

International Seminar on Role of Small Molecules in the Treatment of Inflammatory Diseases


An International Seminar was organised by Department of Zoology, MSCBU in blended mode. Dr Pragya Das, Senior Scientist and Assistant Professor, Cooper University Hospital, New Jersey, USA gave a talk on “Role of small molecules in the treatment of inflammatory diseases”. The Seminar was attended by the students and faculty members of MSCBU.

Training on "Kahan" - a data compilation software by Times Group

 


A Training Workshop was organised by the IQAC cell on “Training on Data Compilation software” to ease data handling for NAAC. The meeting was held at VC Secretariat and attended by faculty members of MSCBU.

Preparatory Meeting for Inter-University Games and Sports

 


A Preparatory Meeting for Inter-University Games and Sports was held in the Convention Annexe Hall of MSCBU. It was attended by eminent sports personalities of the Mayurbhanj, sports coaches, Principal of Degree Colleges and Faculty members of MSCBU. All of them pledged and extended their support to the University to make the event a grand success.

A Sacred Grove in MSCBU Campus


An awareness drive on the role of sacred groves in biodiversity conservation was launched at the APJ Abdul Kalam Biodiversity Park of Maharaja Sriam Chandra Bhanjadeo University on Tuesday, 23 November. The campaign was organised primarily to promote ecological awareness among students of the university. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Kishor Kumar Basa lauded some of the finest conservation practices of Adivasis and urged the gathering to appreciate and learn from rich tribal cultures. Padma Awardee Dr Damayanti Besra, who was felicitated on the occasion, spoke on the intimate links between tribal cultures and sacred groves, which act as vital sites of ecological conservation. Chairman PG Council Prof. Anil Kumar Biswal compared the university’s bounteous biodiversity park to a ‘mini Similipal’ and spoke in fond admiration of the symbolic importance of the sacred grove. Registrar Mr. Sahadev Samadhia emphasised the harmonious coexistence of the tribals with nature and its significance in our times. Commending the efforts of the students in organizing the event, comptroller of finance Mr. Sukadev Tarei reiterated the university’s unstinting commitment to biodiversity protection. The occasion witnessed a gathering of more than 250 students and faculty members of all departments. The event was smoothly organised by Dr Jtindranath Besra of Santhali department, Dr Bishnupriya Hansdah of Botany department.  Dr Suvendu Satpathy, assistant professor, department of Social Work proposed the formal vote of thanks.

Workshop on “Phylogeny, Homology Modelling and Molecular Docking

An IDP-OHEPEE sponsored 10 days virtual workshop on “Phylogeny, Homology Modelling and Molecular Docking” organised by Department of Biotechnology, MSCBU has started off. Resource persons from OUAT, Bhubaneswar, NIT Warangal, OIST Midnapur, Raiganj University, West Bengal and MSCBU, Baripada are scheduled to deliver their lectures. The inaugural of the workshop was attended by faculty, research scholars and students. 

MSCBU participated in Odisha Research Conclave


Research Scholars and Faculty presented their research papers in the Odisha Research Conclave, 2021 held at Utkal University, Bhubaneswar and organised by Odisha Higher Education Council. Vice- Chancellor Prof. K. K. Basa attended the two-day conclave and encouraged the faculty and students who presented papers.

Heartful Campus @MSCBU

The "Heartfulness Campus" program has been concluded at Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanjdeo University. The programme was conducted by the Heartfulness Education Trust for the faculty and students of the University. The event which concluded on 30th October was inaugurated by Vice Chancellor Prof. Kishore Kumar Basa on 25th October. On behalf of the Heartfulness Education Trust resource persons like Swati Dixit, Sudhir Chandra, Sushma Vidalkar, Gayatri Behera, Sundari Sharma conducted this value based programme. . On behalf of the University Chairman of the Post Graduate Council Prof. Anil Kumar Biswal and Er. Gandharva Behera from the Heartful Education Trust Odisha took the leadership towards organizing this event. The Coordinator & Head of the Department of Computer Application Dr. J. K. Mantri, Dr. Puspanjali Parida, Mr. Swarupananda Bissoyi and from the Heartfulness Education Trust Mr. Uttam Patra, Ms. Namita Tanti and Mr. Mihir Kumar Mohapatra facilitated the entire week long programme. The event was attended by a total of 525 students and faculty from 24 different departments of the University.

Youth Empowerment


A value-added course on “YOUTH EMPOWERMENT” coordinated by Department of Economics commenced on 12.11.2021 with huge participation by P. G. students of different departments of MSCBU.

A new series of NOUConnect (now MSCBUConnect)

Seminar series “MSCBUConnect” was held in Botany Conference Hall. Vice- Chancellor, Prof. K. K. Basa presided the meeting and Chairman, P. G. Council, Prof. A. K. Biswal, gave a talk on “Traditional Medicines”. It was attended by all faculty members of MSCBU.

World Science Day


World Science Day was celebrated in the Convention Annex Hall and Prof. Surajit Ghosh, Dept of Physics, Vidyasagar University presented a talk and elaborated on the significance of the day in present day scenario. The meeting was presided by Chairman, PG Council, MSCBU. All faculty members along with students attended the talk.

Yoga for All


A value-added course “YOGA FOR ALL” coordinated by the Department of Yoga and Naturopathy was started in the Chemistry Conference Hall and there was great enthusiasm among the students to participate in the course.

Commemorating the 150th Birth anniversary year of Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanjadeo, Prof. Jatindra K. Nayak gave a talk on "Life and contribution of the Maharaja" in a virtual meeting.
