The Department of Economics, MSCBDU has organised an International Seminar on “Memory and Intransient Growth” in blended mode on 25th October 2021. Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. K.K.Basa inaugurated the seminar. At the outset Prof. A.K.Biswal, Chairman P.G. Council, delivered the welcome address. Dr.A.K.Patra, Head, Department of Economics, introduced the Resource person to the audience. Prof. Tapas Mishra, Professor and Head, Department of Banking and Finance at Southampton Business School, University of Southampton, UK, delivered his talk as Resource Person. In his address he highlighted that the permanent growth pattern of the economy is primarily decided by the past growth rate and some other unaccounted factors. Dr. K.K.Sahu proposed the vote of thanks. More than 80 members, cutting across discipline have taken active participation in the programme. The seminar was coordinated by Dr. M.Mallick, Dr. P.K.Jena and Dr.S.S.Basa.
