A press meet was held 18th November, 2024 regarding the East Zone Inter-University Volleyball (Men) Tournament 2024-25 to be held from 19-11-2024 to 23-11-2024 at Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University. About 900 players and match officials from 64 universities of eastern India will participate in this mega event. Thirteen universities from Odisha, 10 from Chhattisgarh, 9 from West Bengal, 10 from Bihar, 6 from Uttar Pradesh, 7 from Jharkhand, 2 from Manipur, 3 from Assam, 2 from Tripura, one from Mizoram and one from Sikkim are participating in it.

Every day the matches will start at 7:30 am and 3 pm. Teams will report 30 minutes before the match. The inaugural ceremony will be held on 19-11-2024 at 10:00 am and valedictory ceremony will be held on 23-11-2024 at 11:00 am. In the inaugural ceremony, University Ombudsman and Former Vice-Chancellor of Fakir Mohan University Prof. Madhumita Das will attend the inauguration ceremony as the Chief Guest. In the valedictory ceremony, Dr. Krushna Chandra Mahapatra, Hon'ble Cabinet Minister of Housing and Urban Development and Public Enterprises Department of Odisha Government will be the Chief Guest and Mayurbhanj MP Mr. Naba Charan Majhi and Baripada MLA Mr. Prakash Soren will be the Guests of Honour.
The preparations for this mega event have now reached the final stage. The students and sports lovers are very excited as the University is going to organize such a mega sporting event for the third time in a row. Earlier, the University had organized the East Zone Inter-University Mens’ Kabaddi Competitions twice. To make this event a success, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Santosh Kumar Tripathy, Chairman of PG Council Prof. Hemanta Kumar Sahu, Registrar Mr. Sahadev Samadhia, Comptroller of Finance Mr. Sukadev Tarei, Director of Sports Council Prof. Pravanjan Mallick, Deputy Director Dr. Shishir Behera and P.E.T. teacher Shri Pradipta Ranjan Das are seeking the cooperation of all the staff of the university, students, principals of the affiliated colleges, P.E.T teachers, players, public of Mayurbhanj, all officials of the Mayurbhanj district, sports lovers and representatives of all print and electronic media.
